(Solon) - On Monday afternoon, Bernie Kosar's attorney entered a not guilty plea to DUI on his behalf. Kosar will not be in court on Tuesday as originally slated.
The former Cleveland Browns quarterback was picked up for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol early Sunday in Solon.
A police spokesman tells newsradio WTAM 1100 that Kosar was reportedly speeding on Route 422 east of SOM Center Road around 2:42am.
Officers say they detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle. Kosar took sobriety tests and was taken to the Solon City Jail. he was booked, processed and later bailed out.
Officers say Kosar was the only person in the car at the time of the infraction.
Kosar's pre-trial has now been set for December 9 at 1:30 pm
