Academic Fun & Fitness Camp
Expect the unexpected in this unique camp. It’s an exciting experience for campers with special learning needs. Campers gain new perspectives on learning while developing social skills, building self-esteem and improving reading and math skills.
This unique camp is for ages 6-18 with learning differences: ADD, ADHD, learning disabilities, dyslexia and Asperger’s Syndrome. At this “un-school” camp, instructors and aides use systematic instruction and multi-sensory techniques (eyes, ears, touch and muscle movement) to improve campers’ basic reading and math skills. Science, theater, poetry, art and computer mini-courses let campers explore the world beyond the traditional classroom. Ratio of campers to staff is 5:1.

Akron Fossil & Science Center
The Akron Fossils & Science Center’s Truassic Park Adventure Camp registration opens March 1. Day camp dates are July 6-9, July 13-16, July 27-30 and Aug. 3-6. Each camp runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and is for ages 5-11.
The structure of these camps is built around several learning stations. At the Discovery Station, campers participate in a science experiment or watch an instructive demonstration. At the Craft Station, campers create fun projects. At the Snack Station, the group gets a boost of energy while playing with their food. At the Game Station, the campers top the day off with a whole lot of fun.

Andrews Osborne Academy
If you have horse fever, we have your cure. Here’s your chance to spend a week with horses and horse lovers. Andrews Osborne Academy Summer Adventure is a boarding program specializing in horseback riding. This is a special opportunity for girls ages 9-14.
Campers are grouped according to ability level. Beginner topics include grooming, tacking up and basic equitation. Advanced topics include beginning jumping, jumping small courses and further work in equitation flatwork.

This summer, Cleveland Metroparks offers eight weeks of golf day camps for young golfers.

Send you child to college this summer. Lakeland Community College offers the College for Kids summer camp program from June 14-23. The program, now in its 25th year, offers children exciting, fun-filled and educational activities that focus on hands-on learning and exploration.

Crown Point E cology Center in Bath will hold its fourth season of the popular Summer Farm & Science Camp. The enriching and engaging one-week day camp from June 24 to July 30 is for explorers ages 6-11. It offers an opportunity for children to investigate the natural cycles of plants, animals and people on Crown Point’s 130-acre farm through fun, interdisciplinary, problem-solving activities in fields, woodlands, wetlands and the Hausfeld Children’s Garden.

Falcon Horse Lover Camp

Fine Arts Association Theatre Camps
Young people who love to perform will want to attend The Fine Arts Association’s 2010 Theatre Arts Camp. This three day-a-week camp is for grades 3-12. ImmersionCamp at the Ratner School

Old Skool Expert Basketball Camp
Student athletes will have an experience of a lifetime as they work to refine and master their basketball skills. Participants in this intensive, five-week session will not only enhance their game, but also help improve their mental abilities. They will learn or improve on individual and team offensive and defensive skills including ball handling, triple threat, man-to-man defense, boxing-out, various zone defenses, shooting and dribbling and conditioning.
The camp consists of lectures, and campers will be given assignments to work on during the week. All classes train six hours a week. Each class will enroll approximately 12 to 20 student athletes. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Age groups and times will be determined based on ages and numbers of athletes registering.

Pinnacle Sports
Pinnacle Sports Summer Day Camps offers eight, co-ed sessions of sports instruction, athletic performance training, character training and good, old-fashioned summer camp fun rolled into one. Choose from soccer, baseball/softball, basketball and all-sports weeks. Our camp staff is experienced in summer camping, coaching and child development.
Cost for boys and girls is $160 per week with the exception June 28-30, which is $100. Come for all eight weeks and pay only $1,000. There are discounts for multiple children or multiple weeks. There also is a daily day camp option of $40 per day. We also offer early drop off and late pick up for working parents for an additional fee.

S'Camp at Old Trail
What does your child want to do this summer? Join us at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park for summer camp at Old Trail School. Our popular S’Camp program runs from June 14-Aug. 6.

Scribes and Scribblers Child Development Center offers a creative, well-rounded summer camp program for ages 6-14 from June 15-Aug. 21.

SMILE Summer Camp
A therapeutic day camp for ages 4-18 in Twinsburg, SMILE Summer Camp was developed to provide kids with disabilities a fun, interactive way to develop better social skills, communication and emotional regulation. Summer camp is a valuable experience to children with autism, Asperger’s and other pervasive developmental disorders who benefit from the positive structure and varying activities.
Every camper’s IEP goals will be targeted in the realm of speech-language therapy, while engaging in fun-filled small group and community outings, including horseback riding, swimming and other exciting activities in the community. All campers are prepared for and engaged with therapeutic supports to help them stay safe and have fun.

South Suburban Montessori School
South Suburban Montessori Summer Camp is open to all children from the ages of 3 to 6 years and adheres to the Montessori theory in regards to following the interests and developmental needs of the individual child. A typical day includes stories, songs, movement and rhythmic activities, cooking, art and sharing lunch together.
The children will be outside as often as possible for science exploration, gardening activities, nature walks and water play. Field trips to places such as the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History or the Rocky River Trailside Interpretive Center are scheduled throughout the summer. The program is lead by SSMS staff members.

Spring Garden Waldorf

Summer Wind Stables
Summer Wind Stables offers a coed day camp with horseback riding and swimming. The camp runs from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. June 9-Aug. 22, with before and after care available.
Campers are divided by ability level. The advanced group can jump proficiently and may have show experience. Beginner groups have never ridden before. SWS has 12 school horses for a variety of ability levels.
Campers ride twice each day for an hour or more each time. They also have a hands-on ground lesson. Each camper has a horse for the week and learns total care of that horse. Parents are invited to join them each Friday for a performance.

University of Akron
From swimming to Spanish lessons, painting to picnics, The University of Akron Center for Child Development Summer Day Camp has it all. Children who have completed kindergarten through age 11 can have an entertaining, fun and educational summer all rolled into one when they attend this day camp.
The nine-week camp features a different theme each week and runs from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. June 7-Aug. 6, with a minimum two-week attendance required. Cost is $175 per week (UA employees pay $170) and includes breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack.
Camp counselors are college-degreed staff specializing in early childhood education/child development. The majority of activities are on the UA campus and at the center at 108 Fir Hill St. All off-campus field trips are accompanied by campus security officers.

YMCA Camp Y-Noah
