Off-Duty Paramedic Saves Passenger’s Life Mid-Flight

Lake Country Fire & Rescue assistant chief, Matthew Haerter, recently helped an unconscious passenger during a flight from Milwaukee to Arizona.

Despite it being his 30th anniversary as a paramedic and a supposed relaxing trip, Haerter administered an IV and stayed by the passenger's side until the plane landed.

Southwest Airlines praised their crew's professionalism and thanked Haerter for his assistance during the emergency situation.
