This year 183,406 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and approximately 40,480 will die. But research reveals that the mortality rate could decrease by 30% if every woman age 50 and older who needed a mammogram had one. What’s more, breast cancer has a five-year survival rate of more than 95% when it is diagnosed early.
How Can You Manage Your Risk For Breast Cancer? While all women are at risk of developing breast cancer, there are some things you can do to minimize your risk.
The signs and symptoms of breast cancer include lumps, nipple discharge (especially bloody), nipple inversion that is new, dimpling, abnormal redness, breast swelling that occurs rapidly and looks like an infection, and calcification noted on a mammogram.
