About Me:
I was adopted into the WGAR family in January of 2005 and the time has flown by!  The "good times" keep getting better...How lucky am I to have the funnest job in the world!?!?

Click here for more of my photos!

Born and bred a Buckeye, I was raised in North Royalton, and graduated from Padua Franciscan High School in Parma - Go Bruins!!!  I grew up thinking I either wanted to deliver babies or talk on the radio.  After high school I took a few years at Tri-C and realized that the science classes were not up my alley...so I enrolled at The Ohio Center for Broadcasting.  I loved it there!  Finally, I was surrounded by people who talked too much and were semi crazy like me.  I was in heaven!  :)  I graduated in 1997, and now I teach there!  Yep, I'm influencing future radio "stars"!

I got my first radio gig in Ashland Ohio at "Mid Ohio's Country WNCO" and "The Fox 102.3".  I learned a lot there, and developed my own love for country music!  I also spent a lot of money on gasoline driving 120 miles a day to and from work.  I spent 6 years there until I was adopted into the WGAR family! It is my dream job in my favorite place...Cleveland!!!

Most of that time I was carrying on a long distance relationship with my now husband, Stevan...Like Evan with an "St" in front.  He lived in Houston, TX and I spent most of my vacation time traveling to see him or showing him around Cleveland when he could make it here.  Talk about frequent flyer miles!!!  He proposed to me Thanksgiving weekend of 2003 and we were married on New Years Eve of 2004!  Now, we just hope to be able to start the insane "Jackson" family one day...keeping our fingers crossed!

I live in Cleveland with my husband Stevan, doggie Sophie, and 3 kitties: Claire, Sammy and Petey.  Well, technicaly their cats...the 13 lbs each (Claire and Sammy) kinda give it away!

Country's new hot romance to watch!

Looks like the "awesome guy" Julianne Hough was talking about in her interview last week was none other than tour mate Chuck Wicks!  Woohoo!  I don't know who is luckier?!?  Last week she admitted to now dating an awesome guy and that things were just really good.  She apparently couldn't keep the secret and spilled the beans!  How cool is it that they are together all summer on Brad Paisley's Party Tour?  This is a romance I'd like to see last, they both seem like delightfull peeps.  Julianne said "Chuck is a good work-out buddy, When we play amphitheaters, we'll run up and down the stairs. And all of us & all the bands bought bikes and we go mountain biking and we'll go to amusements parks and things like that."  That sounds like a perfect summer romance to me!

CLICK HERE to check out Sanjaya's new gig!  Nationwide Insurance commercial and I have to say he's a good little actor!  Well, better than I expected.  Funny stuff.

AYYYYYY...

I always wanted to have the power "The Fonz" had at getting the jukebox to play for free, and play the right song, just by giving it that Fonzerelli touch.  I loved watching Happy Days growing up and stil try to catch the re runs if I can.  Arthur Fonzerelli is a major pop culture icon from way back when and he was recently honored with his bronz (ha ha get it! fonz/bronz) statue in Wisconsin on the Millwaukee River, where the show was set.  Whats even cooler, is the cast made it there to support him too! Show creator-director-producer Garry Marshall, stars Anson Williams (Potsie), Don Most (Ralph), Marion Ross (Mrs. Cunningham), Tom Bosley (Mr. Cunningham) and Erin Moran (Joanie), as well as "Laverne & Shirley" leads Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams.

Kenny Chesney plays for the New Orleans Saints?
For the second year in a row, Kenny practiced on the field with the Saints.  It helps that he is good friends with head coach Sean Peyton and quarterback Drew Brees.  They said he did better this year than last mentioning that Kenny caught a 45 yard punt and ran it.  Kenny said with the way the players are conditioned he was proud of just keeping up with them!  (photos courtesty of people.com)

Ryan Seacrest photo has surfaced from a photo shoot he did back in 1994 when he was 19 years old.  Wow!  I can even see the ego way back then!  What do you think of Ryan?

Car that runs on AIR!?!?

Backers of the “compressed air car” say the car can go up to 106 miles per gallon. A New York based company called Zero Pollution Motors is the first firm in the U.S. to get a license to make the cars and they plan to deliver the first models in 2010 at a price tag of less than $18,000. So this is something that everyone could purchase sooner rather than later.  Will it actually happen is my question.  I hope so is my answer.  I am not a conspiracy theorist but I can't help but wonder who may "get their hands on that" and keep it from happening.  The hybrids and electrics are wonderfull concepts but the average person can't afford those, so this would be THE answer the majority needs.  WAY TOO TINY, if you ask me, but if every family got this for the "work car" that would eliminate half of what each family polutes the air.

Barbie's new collector dolls (since it is Elvis week!)

The maker of Barbie is coming out with the first-ever Elvis and Priscilla Presley dolls. The dolls are wearing replica outfits of what the Presley’s wore on their wedding day in Las Vegas in 1967.  The Elvis doll is dressed in a black paisley tuxedo, and Priscilla's doll is wearing a gown of white chiffon and satin, with tiara and veil. Mattel’s Elvis and Priscilla Barbie Doll Gift Set is on sale at Wal-Mart.

Here's something scarey to think about...There is less than 5 months till Christmas!  Here's something scarier...I've already gotten some Christmas presents for people!  I figured this year since money is tighter, I would start picking things up early so the cost doesn't hit as hard at one time.

I went out on a hot date with my husband Sunday night.  We went to Cracker Barrell.  LOL We were in the mood for comfort food.  I'm telling you this because when I walked into the country store I couldn't believe my eyes!  Halloween decorations!  Oh yeah, and Christmas decorations too!  I know, INSANE!  Every year, earlier and earlier.  I don't like it at all.  It takes away from each "season" if you ask me.  It also burns people out on fun times of the year.  I tried to ignore those sections.  Okay, okay...I did buy one thing.  It was too flippin cute I couldn't resist!  But, it is put away already.

I thought this was a really funny picture.  It was attached to a story I was reading about how incredibly well the latest Batman flick is doing...

"The Dark Knight" has sailed past the $400 million mark at the box office in just 18 days!  Thats the fastest pace ever!  It's expected to pass up the original "Star Wars" ($461 mill) in about 2 weeks, making it No. 2 on the all time domestic list behind "Titanic" ($600.8 mill).

I think thats really cool, especially since I too really enjoyed the flick.  However, It really isn't fair.  There are more theaters, people and higher ticket prices than there was when those movies were out.  I wonder if there is a way to even those factors out and then see what the tally is.  Woah, who has time to figure all that out?  But something to ponder, you know?

Stickin with the movie theme, this really cracked me up!  I found out that when our Hollywood produced movies head over seas, titles are often changed to sound better in the local language.  The Dark Knight in Mexico is titled The Knight of the Night.  Last years big comedy hit Knocked Up was changed to Slightly Pregnant in Peru and One Night, Big Belly in China.  That one gave me a good laugh.

Your opinion counts:

Tech experts are saying that human powered technology is what the future holds.  I.E. You would power your appliances and electronics with your own movements.  How does walking the treadmill for an hour sound to power your dish washer?  Human power is gaining popularity worldwide as businesses seek "greener" methods of opperating.  In Portland Oregon the first human powered gym has opened.  A human powered night club is opening in the Netherlands next month.    Hong Kong and London have similar spots.  Does this sound like something you'd be willing to do to save energy?  Think about it, that day may be coming.
